By the way, anybody here knows how long the magnetic core memories were used? I middle 80s I was an internal at Pirelli, they had one of these boards (A2 like size... 512 bits, maybe?) from some old equipment... I think that was something from early 70's.

By the way, I don't know if the correct name is magnetic core.. small ferrite toroids (less than 1cm diameter) with a few wounds of wire...
