#62663 - You young fellas never had it so good! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Check this out..... http://www.arcula.demon.co.uk/bhist7.htm Also one of the old ibm 370's had punch cards to store the microcode and used capacitive sensing. By microcode I means the bits to control the processor logic rather than the code the processor executes. Many of the old computers had lamps to indicate the states of the internal registers - to test the registers there were pushbuttons to set and reset the registers and if it failed you could see it on the lamps. Nowadays I'm finding it a bit hard wiring all the lamps into my pentium4. Has anyone written an emulator for the Apollo flight control computer? |
