#6291 - RE: "Strapping" the /EA-Vpp Pin |
Hi fahmy,
When I was a beginning engineer (I don't know that you are or are not) I ALWAYS took offense to a more experienced engineer's suggestion that my designs or ideas were not the best. I usually found that they only wanted to help me and that my mistakes were due to the "lack of practice" (experience) of thinking out a design completely. Today, I only use worst case scenarios for all my designs. That way I can predict what "might" happen. You must ask yourself through every step, "What would happen if"? Will it happen? Maybe not, you can not say. Which is just the point. As an engineer you must be able to have a reasonable amount of certainty. If you tie the pin as suggested then you can say with good certainty that your design will not experience problems because EA is in an indeterminant state. It takes great discipline to produce trustworthy designs. Most the people on this forum show that ability. Allen |
