Again: the resistor/capacitor reset does ONLY work if used with a SINGLE device (the uC). If you look in the data sheetfor any device, you will see that reset is guaranteed to happen when the pin is somwhere BETWEEN two voltages (Vih and Vil). So with the resistor/capacitor reset the devices will reset at different times (sometimes milli, yes milli seconds apart). The preferred means of resetting peripheral devices is to let the uC reset these, using a port pin, after it is reset itself. If you cannot spare a port pin, at least use a reset circuit (dallas or maxim). Charles suggestion of using an inverter is not as good as using a reset circuit, you will get hung on fast power spikes if you use just an inverter. |
