#64420 - Conclusion Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Well, I think It’s the time to reach a conclusion and put an end to this thread.
I want to thank all people who contributed to this thread especially “Patrick de groote” Who raised many good technical questions and criticized the protocol very professionally. First of all I accept that I should use a better terminology, though in the protocol that has been explained the 8051s, are not synchronous in respect of communication, the term Async Parallel Communication, can be confusing so if I could change the thread name I would dub it Buffered Parallel Communication Protocol, In respect of using FIFOs in my particular application (500 bytes/Sec(@15 Hz means data should be updated in target 8051 at least @ 15 Hz, but of course in the protocol that I’ve explained I intended to check FIFOs flag @ much faster rate ), I reached to this conclusion that it’s not a good idea and I’m thinking about changing of MCU, but it may be suitable for other purposes with some modifications that maybe for future projects I consider it. In respect of using software cross checking and using supervisor, I reached to this conclusion that software cross checking may not be enough and supervisor chip should not be removed. For those who want to know about parallel communication I suggest following links, especially “Michael karas” provided very professional and precious guidelines, thank you michael.
