i would rubbish this approach completely.stick to ordinary hex format and write to a direct digital synthesis chip supported by companies like analog devices et al throught the ic2 and spi port of your board. the part offers submicron to 50M hz 28bit tuning freq capability and 12 phase tuning.trust me it is much simpler than the approach your taking and only requires writing two bytes to the spi port .sweet
