Thanks for the reply. Have you used the device in the configuration which I have mentioned? The software reset is carried out even before we read or write to the communication register, or am I wrong. According page No.34 let me quote the relevent portion here: "In this case, if the interface is lost, because the read and write operation share the same line, the procedure to reset it back to known state is somewhat different than previously described. It requires a read operation of 24 serial clocks followed by a write operation where a Logic 1 is written of a least 32 clock cycles to ensure that the serial interface is back into a known state." "All communications to the part must start with a write operation to the Communications Register" Agreed! but isn't this valid after the device in reset(software) and put in a know state.
