I think this is utterly negative - the person gains absolutely nothing whatsoever from the forum.

I hope that my suggestion might at least improve their their chances of gaining something from the forum, by directly bringing the FAQs, tutorials, and 'Search' facility to their attention - and forcing them to acknowledge that these resources had been brought to their attention.

Of course, if they still choose not to take advantage of these resources, ...
