You could look at a derivative part that has more I/O port pins. You could also look at parts that have on board SRAM. Silicon Labs (formerly Cygnal) have parts like the C8051F124 for example that have eight 8-bit ports. These parts also have onboard 8K byte SRAM and 128K FLASH which can be used partly for code and partly for NV data storage, On this part it is possible to use three of the ports to implement an external memory interface wherein it is possible to connect up external SRAM with no glue logic whatso ever....not even the old standard ALE address latch. (Although this part can also operate with this external bus interface in a multiplexed bus mode where an external latch can be used to save one port on the processor.

Hello Karas,

The components mentioned are avaibale very easly, thats the reason why I selected them... With the mentioned components is there any other method to add additional IO(IO expanders not aviable/too costly).

This is a one of project.
