Of course, but not only that. I believe that it is also because Microsoft is very slow on fixing various bugs (not only security issues).



I have never done that, mainly because I have a slow connection. Fortunately the CD-ROMs from computer magazines often contain Service Packs or other patches. But what I have done is to always use an antivirus program with the latest virus definitions (my favourite is Norton) AND a firewall. Especially from the time I started using a firewall I saved several times my PC (and myself from nervous breakdowns :). Two very good ones (and also free) is ZoneAlarm and Sygate.



Well if they manage to make Linux a real desktop OS for those who don't have much knowledge on computers, it won't take long to see exactly those kinds of viruses on it... Of course my beloved Linux IS 1000 times more secure than Windows. We all know that... Only if I had more time to study Linux...
