#75631 - RE: Reliability of BIT flags Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Question hence is : How reliable is this dependancy on a single BIT flag for crucial decisions ? I'd say that a single bit flag is as reliable as the code that is running on the MCU. Are there any extra precautions that one can take to be more sure ? Certainly extra safety precautions should be implemented when the consequences of a failure are critical. But taking extra (software) precautions are going to be of limited value if the code is unreliable and setting/clearing bits unexpectedly. Regards, Craig Steiner |
