How exactlty is the connection when you say Directly across VCC and GND. Do you mean soldering the cap right on the bottom side of DS1232 across pin 4 and 8 of XXX1232
1) to fix old boards, the cap is soldered directly on top of the SMT chip. 2) for the new boards, the lsyout is such that the trace lengths are absolute minimum (~1/4" total for the two). Erik |
