While this is about design methods, let us not forget the end product. No design method known to me ensure code maintainability, which in my humble opinion is the MOST important quality of software. I just can't resist quoting Jack Ganssle who in Embedded Systems Programming magazine writes "Any idiot can write code. Even Teenage hackers manage to crank out working software. Professionals create beautiful code that is crystal clear and a joy to maintain."
