Well R.S. prices are high here in Greece too. I don't know about India, but for Greece R.S. 's warehouses are in the UK, so maybe that's a reason for high prices (£ currency, instead of US $ or €. I am just assuming, I don't know exactly so maybe I am wrong...). Farnell has high prices too, but that is definitely because it is a British company (so we have £ currency). If you can't find a component in your local electronics store or local distributor, then maybe it would be better to check Arrow, Digi-Key or Mouser...
