Yes the RS prices are through the roof in India . But not that they want to fleece - they just can't help it .

- The Rupee conversion againt the GBP / Euro to start with.
- The Import custom duty is rather stiff and the rupee price that you get includes that also.
- The freight cost is also included in the pricing.

Recently I imported a 40W multi output SMPS from Mouser. You want to know the details ?

Freight : 52USD
Custom Duty : Rupees 800/= or 17 USD

If you have come to a conclusion that I need to have my head examined - just wait. I have showed the finish and performance of the Phihong SMPS to my regular supplier and he is a very worried man today.

I may have spent 3 times more but the future benefeciary is my customer.
