Well R.S. prices are high here in Greece too.

Here in Germany prices of RS are also rather high, at least to my opinion. It's like to go shopping in a pharmacy. But an advantage of RS is, that you can get nearly everything you need. So, RS is a bit for exotic parts, while I use other distributors here to get my standard parts.
