Steven, obviously you want to do this to simplify your board design. There is absolutely no technical reason for not doing this. The address mix-up Kelvin mentioned does happen, but it happens when you write as well as when you read, so the net result is: no problems whatsoever. Kelvin was only partly right, possibly because he forgot that you were talking about RAM.
It makes your circuit harder to troubleshoot for third parties. Since in this case, it's your pet project and nobody will ever have to repair it but yourself, knock yourself out. |
