#81135 - Bizarre datasheet Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I am afraid of trying this option since I don't have a parrallel programmer for reverting back to 12 clock mode. Oh dear, I just had a look into datasheet of P98V51RD2! I thought it's not possible to find anything worse than an atmel datasheet... Well, in the 'clock doubling option' chapter nothing seems to make sense to me. Can the double clock bit set by software or not? Is it part of SFR or not? Why can it be only disbaled by parallel programmer then?? Value of this double clock bit is undetermined after reset. Why?? Prahlad, I would worry much more about the most bizarre statement in this chapter: "If external memory or peripheral devices are accessed {when having double clock enabled} special care must be taken into consideration!" But they do not state where to take this special care and why! That's total bullshit!! Prahlad, I noticed that actual datasheet is from october 2004. Maybe you should have a look at latest flashmagic software. Maybe they have changed something referring to this P89V51RD2? Kai |
