#81949 - A word of warning Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Joseph Hebert said:
In general, when I want to monitor an AC voltage, I use a capacitive voltage divider Apa At, You need to be very careful that your capacitors have the appropriate ratings and meet the appropriate approvals if you're going to connect this to the AC mains supply. I'm sure Joe understands this, but please be sure that you fully understand before you just connect to the mains... A suitable transformer could also be used to step the voltage down to a suitable level for measurement, and also provide isolation. |
