#82233 - thank you Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Andy
i googled and found lot of suppliers in india for PC104. it it good to rely on them to develop a product and it should have a life cycle of min. 6 years. for example P89C51RD2HBP -> P89C51RD2BN -> P89V51RD2BN one by one getting obsolete and we need to redesign the board and change software every time. some one suggested me to go for FPGA based 8051. i don't any thing about FPGA. is this not possible to make simple VGA with three of four frmaes per second that too when user selects a page it should appear with in 0.5 sec. that is enough. our products are to be supported by us throught the life cycle of that product. my idea is to design a CPU board and make all other components as standard which will not change for 6 to 8 years. it at all requires only cpu board has be changed to suit the I/O boards. if it is one off project it is best idea to go for PC mother board Haribabu |
