But you don't publish your e-mail address here, do you? I sometimes forget to check the "don't publish e-mail address" box; I got the spam. :-( The "don't publish" checkbox is gone. Now you configure it system-wide in the account settings and everyone started with a default of "Don't allow email in any form" when the system was changed over. Even if you publish your email address, it will only be available to registered members of 8052.com. That was true of the previous version of the website. That means that some registered member of 8052.com went through and manually trolled for email addresses from this forum. Unfortunately there is no way to know who it was. The name of the sender of the spam doesn't appear to correspond to any member at 8052.com and the domain "lisatco.com" doesn't appear in the 8052.com member database either. If any of you have any concerns about email security go to "account settings" and set your email option to "email through 8052.com only". That will let other members contact you by entering their message into a form at 8052.com and then 8052.com will send you their message without revealing your email address to the sender. Only if you reply will your email address be exposed (since you'll be sending them email directly at that point). Regards, Craig Steiner |
