As José said before, if you use a parallel memory you only need to attach the 8 data bits to P0, and via a latch to the lowbyte of the address word, and the P2 to the highbyte of the address word. Also you will need three control signals, write, read, and ChipSelect(if it is the only memory you can leave this one)
But if you use a I2C or other protocol you´ll need to implement it in software or have a derivative with a peripheral that implement it. In the last reply there is a full description (the bible) of how to interface external memories. See there for a detailed description. Regards Robert. |
