The cost of a '51 chip containing 64kB of FLASH may be higher, especially if they are hard to get in a particular place (usually you need to add the cost of shipping). A $0 general '51 and EPROM may come from a donation from a company that needs it never more - remember, Rahul is a student, and price calculations are somewhat different that time.
But yes, Rahul, be warned, life is different, and a comparatively more expensive part may turn to be cheaper when talking about assembly, testing, repair etc. cost. Rahul, you can use almost any '51 clone as ROM-less (including the AT89C52) - search the "bible" for meaning of EA pin. Jan Waclawek |
