#84279 - how can i do a40kHz signal for 10 cycles |
Hi, i am quite new to the 8051 and would like some advice on setting up an output port to provide an ultrasonic transducer with a 40kHz signal for 10 cycles.
I also require rs-232 communication so i chose the 11.059MHz oscillator for the baud rates. If i use this oscillator how can i get an accurate 40kHz signal? Can i load the timer with a value of 11.5? or can i only use whole numbers? Since 11.5 x 1/(11.059MHZ/12) is 12.48uS i.e. half the period. Or can i use a 12MHz oscillator - is this still ok for the baud rates? |
