#84537 - Floating point math
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi Hemant,

I think you are going to find the concensus is that floating point math is far too inefficient for an 8051/8052 derivative. These are µ-controllers, not µ-processors. Still, this isn't to say that it can't be done. I'll bet that putting your code in EPROM is an important first step (since there will be so much of it). Anyway, this subject has been discussed at length here on the forum. Do a search for "floating point" and you should find a trove of information.

Good luck,

Joe
