What is really happening in this situation is that 89C4x0ldr-lite is starting, realizing it does not have the command line option it requires, and exiting before you even have a chance to see what output was generated. If you are not getting any error messages, try running 89C4x0ldr-lite with the "-V4" option; with this option set, a lot of output will be generated. Also, what version of Windows are you using? I have been using the Microcontroller Tool Kit (MTK) software and believe I have experienced problems with insufficient erasal of the flash. When experiencing this difficulty I must perform repeated erase operations which temporarily cures my loading difficulties. While I could be wrong, I believe this intermittent problem is in the Dallas sofware. Interesting. I have seen a variety of odd behavior in MTK, but never that problem. Were you actually getting "Could not erase flash" errors? Would it verify the clearing of flash? 89C4x0ldr-lite does in fact wait for the successful clear of the flash. If the flash does not clear, it will abort before actually performing the load. When you run it with the verbosity at 3 or higher, you will see a message when the flash has been cleared. --Sasha Jevtic |
