Yes, I tried opening 89C4x0ldr-lite directly from windows. I am using Win 98 SE. Unfortunately I have not had opportunity to begin learning C yet, therefore I have performed everything in 8051 assembly. Someday I will become familiar with the Keil software.

If I remember correctly, I never receive error messages when clearing flash. Trouble is experienced as the boot-strap loader is loading code into program memory. It sometimes has a tendency to lock-up and I may/may not receive a message such as "Files do not match". The message may only occur while the Dallas software is loading the program memory. If loading completes and code is corrupted, I will not receive a message. My best guess is the Dallas software is verifying the file as it is being loaded onto the '420 and as individual blocks are verified as OK it moves forward. As my program files are between 900 and 1300 bytes in size and there is a minimal delay for the Dallas program and Windows to reflect this info to my display, it's hard to guess what is happening.

Having typed this, I realize I should try this with another '420 and verify EVERY file after loading to try and nail down more specific details.

Last note: I have experienced similar but different problems before when I interrupted the micro's on board boot-strap loader in its' function. The micro would lock up and require several Power On Resets before it would again communicate with my Dallas software.
