#87437 - Yes, the perspective! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If I work for a medium to big company in a (no offence, just stating a fact) rich country in a not-lowest-end product segment, with a lot of resources of various kind, and people doing support of various kind for me (including secretarial, accounting, acquisition, logistics...) , I take the luxury of choosing the best available solution (here: mcu) in terms of ease of use, unless the cost is a prohibitive multiple of the second choice. If I am a small, starting, one-man-show, sorry, company; or living in a poor country and/or have restricted access to technologies; or in a highly competetive possibly consumer segment (may read toys); I squeeze out the last bit/hertz/watt/tick from what comes handy. Been in both situations. And I don't believe that somebody with the former background would come and ask such question here (you too don't usually ask questions here, do you). And what matters at the end of the day is the product itself and its functionality in each aspect. --- Btw. I have no problem with acquiring Philips, STM, SiLabs, AD, Dallas, etc. parts here (at least I hope so, some of the listed brands I never tried), but it is far from being convenient. AT89C2051's simply happen to lay in piles around.. --- Sorry that I am so stupid, but I don't understand why wouldn't the timer method catch a 0-1 transition during an ISR? Jan Waclawek |
