#87498 - suggestions
Responding to: ???'s previous message
hi,

Jan Waclawek said:
While not solving the original problem, I am curious whether

- a 2051 and an invertor (as Andy said) would be an appropriate solution for changing the edge of interrupt (and not "bending" the chip)

For more flexible system I would suggest to use exclusive or:
This way it is possible to select the polatiry of active level of an external interrupt.

- pin-compatible more modern replacement for 2051 with some extra features can be found (I am afraid not, the modern derivatives tend to be SMD with 40++ leads;

Atmel produces T89C5115 (packages: PLCC28,SOIC28,VQFP32) with PCA, XRAM, EEPROM, x2 feature and ISP-via-UART. As well, Atmel has announced AT89EB5114 (SO20 package). This device has external interrupts 0 and 1 configurable for detect either falling or rising edge (by bits ESBx of register IOR).

Oleg
