#88010 - Precision Resistance welding? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Do you have any good links as to exactly what Precision Resistance welding is? Surely much different than a simple wire-feed or arc welder.
I know you are well beyond this, but this is what I was wondering: Is the original question/application as simple as an external current control on a welder or is this a question of generated POWER as a result of current? In other words, is your desired firing angle allready determined or is your "area under the curve" dependent on the voltage created across the work material and the electrode? I spend enough time during the day welding that I really wonder about this. I really do. Since electrode life is critical, how about some form of a "soft start" ? As electrically noisy as welders are, is it possible to make an accurate measurement? Does the transformer filter enough where monitoring the primary gives accurate enough information of what's happening on the secondaries? Dan |
