A lot of times I thought of using multiple processors for various dedicated processes on this welding control system. But then the fear of system size increament shoots the idea down. Since I started with designing this I have continously went on increasing the speed of micro in order to fulfill the upgrade/improvement requirements. I remember I started this system with AT89S52 @ 4MHz 8 months ago. and now, Its using P89C668 @ 12MHz in 6 clock mode. Now it seems for the present task C668 too has come down to its knees and for further improvements such as GLCD showing welding current waveforms Multilanguage and more interactive user interfae, more precise welding current feedback and more precise firing I think soon I will have to move on to ARMs I am at present planning to use LPC2124.
