In short: emulators have a real value.
That's why I have 5 for this family (2 for 6 clock Philips Rx2/66x, one for Philips 12 clock std '51, one for the Philips XA and one for the Philips LPCs) and, of course the SILabs chips have 'built in' ICE. The problem with ICEs is that once you start communicating between multiple chips, one is just not enough. The Cygnal "ICE" (Not a misspelling I do not use the crappy IDE, just the debugger) fortunately can run multiple instances, so you can see all ends at the same time. Erik |
