But if your processor has an on-chip ADC, analogue could be easiest.

If you're not worried about high-presicion, etc, (so there's no careful analogue design required), and you have an on-chip ADC, I'd say that an analogue voltage-output sensor would probably be the "easiest" solution.

Again, the question is just far too woolly to be able to give any definite answers! :-(
