#88560 - WEOT Motor Rewind Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Gents,
Thanks for your contributions. This motor is constructed such that placing new windings in around each pole would be a bit like threading a needle. Between each pole is a piece of stiff insulating material that seems to act like a retainer to prevent the windings from working their way toward the rotor through the gap between poles during operation. I suppose I could remove the insulator prior to attempting the rewind in order to obtain clear access to each pole and not have to 'thread the needle' (no way will I rewind if I've got to 'thread the needle'). After rewinding, I could insert a thin piece of plastic sheet as a retainer/insultor and then dip in a can of laquer to set the windings. The purpose would be to make a 3 phase motor to develop firmware for a VVVF drive on the cheap. Thanks again for your suggestions. Cheers, Bruce |
