One point Michael brought up that I have experienced often is the fact that grounding something is usually a joke in regard to signal integrity and shielding. The only thing that always works for radiation in is twisted pair driven differentially. As for radiation out, design, not grounding is the solution. One example, although not exactly related, was that I had to determine why a piece of equipment in amsterdam blew up ocasionally and finally found that it was grounded to the ground wire from the lightning arrestor. |
