It seems my way would save much in the way of new programming for you. We can now easily note previous correspondence as links to the topic, and new input automatically gets shown on the top of the list. The closing threads thing is just a housekeeping kind of thing that can get done when we like.

The current gazette edition of the postings is great, but new material in old threads is hard to parse in mentally !
