First thing I want to say is I also would like to see older threads with new replies placed on top of the list again. This makes it more interesting to browse back.

One thought i had: is it possible when reading to open threads when clicked from the topics list in a new browser window? I always do this by <shift>- clicking, and I think more of the readers do this. I think this works faster than using the back button for people with slower internet connections.
