Sorry, Michael, byt your answer is both wrong and not useful.
Wrong, because CF has NOT (I repeat it: NOT) any contingouos random access memory area. See CompactFlash specification (rev.3.0, can be downloaded for free from www.compactflash.org) pages 97 and 98. Note that this entire window accesses the Data Register FIFO and does not allow random access to the data buffer within the CompactFlash Storage Card. So it CANNOT be used as code memory. PCMCIA memory cards, although maybe can be used for this purpose, are too expensive, rare, not easy to get, the specification has to be paid for, and are getting out of fashion anyway. Jan Waclawek |
