Thanks for the info, and thanks for the original reply as well. Atmel Flip looks pretty cool and it runs on Linux which is my OS of choice so excellent. I'm still a bit confused on the in circuit programmable stuff. Can I just tear apart a serial cable and wire it into the breadboard? Is it that smart or do you still need some intermediary device between the PC and the chip? Sorry, I'm very new at this, and all I know about this stuff is what I got from iguanalabs.com with my Microcontroller Beginner's Kit.
