#96224 - SecureCRT Responding to: ???'s previous message |
My longtime favorite terminal emulation program for Windows is SecureCRT. This is largely based on the fact that I am SSHed into at least two Solaris machines all day, running curses applications, using forwarded ports, etc. SecureCRT has great SSH support, and exceptionally high quality terminal emulation as well; the interface is also nicely customizable.
It also supports serial communication; I frequently use it for communicating with configuration interfaces on my 8051-based designs. At least as far as the old version I have goes (4), there isn't much in the way of embedded-developer friendly functionality like a hex dump mode. Still, it allows up to a 32000 line buffer, which I've generally found to be quite usable. SecureCRT is not free, but in my opinion, is worth the price for the utility it provides. --Sasha Jevtic |
