#96249 - Hypoterminal - Receive Text; FIFOs
Responding to: ???'s previous message

Andy,i tried 'Capture Text' but it didn't work

In what way did it not work?

You go to the 'Transfer' menu and choose 'Capture Text...'
It asks you for a filename
You give it a filename, then click 'Start'
The 'Capture' indicator turns 'ON' (becomes black) in the status bar.

From that point on, everything received by the terminal is both displayed on the screen & written to the file.

When you're done, you go back to the 'Transfer', choose 'Capture Text >' and then choose 'Stop'
The 'Capture' indicator turns 'OFF' (becomes grey) in the status bar.

You can then examine the file & see the received data.

You aren't trying to examine the file before stopping the capture, are you? If you do that, Hypoterminal still has the file open for writing - and you are bound to get problems...!

Baud rate is 2400,and my pc speed is 2.4 G (Is it important at all while i can get a good answer from hyper terminal)

Well, that should be no problem at all!

Conceivably, you might get problems if you were using a very high baud rate and/or a very slow PC - but you have neither of those.

I don't know where can i enable UART FIFO?

Locate the port(s) in question in Device Manager.
Open the Properties page for a port
Look on the 'Port Settings' Tab
Click 'Advanced' - there's the FIFO settings

(you can also get to this via the settings in Hypoterminal).
