#96514 - don't be afraid of SMD Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The point is, that trying to stick to non-SMD packages just because one is afrad to solder them, nowadays reduces significantly the selection of parts one can use.
An illustration of the method, in its perhaps most raw form: http://www.mcu.cz/modules/n...toryid=493 (sorry for the comment unlegible for 99% of the world... but the pictures are probably clear enough). Jan Waclawek PS1: The gel type flux is said by many to be better (I did not try but read a lot of it, but generally I solder these days only very ocassionally) but check carefully for proper removal of residui. PS2: Be careful when moving the solder tip along the row of tips, keep it above the tips, not to bend them (especially the finer pitch ones). |
