Erik, you've got to get yourself a better techy!
naah, he is very good at what he is hired for: troubleshooting and fixing returned boards. That I happen to use him twice a year for something else when the contract manufacturer does not have time to do a quickie and I get only almost perfect results in those cases I can easily live with.

my failure rate is somewhere around 1 in 10,000 joints.
Glad you have such excellent results.
I do not know how long you take to achieve this, the case of my techie I referred to was making 5 boards with a f122, 5 tsop ICs, ~50 0603s and some miscellaneous in an afternoon
