Mehdi, Is the device (based on the chip you mentioned - http://www.dspg.com/dspg/ics_for_integrated.html , isn't it?) already built and tested and you are supposed "only" to write the firmware? Or do they want you to build it from scrap? In the first case, I think, if it is completely new for you, it might be a good idea first to try to "play" with it for a while and try at least the basic functionality, prior you accept the task - well I don't know if this is acceptable for you and your client...
