Yes most of us can guess why the Karma was asked to be made zero.
But one thing I will never understand in this forum is the frequent discussions and heart burns over this Karma rating system. I also happen to visit the LabVIEW forum and they do have a classification based on the number of posts/visits ( member, proven active member, proven active veteran ...etc ) and a 5 star ranking system for each post. A useless post gets no star and a very good one gets 5. And in the member profile the average of the stars is recorded. Forget about the grading and stars - the point is NOBODY ever discusses or comments on the system. It just operates and thats it. Now I do feel that the Webmaster who runs the show is ENTITLED to implement certain facilities / features as deemed fit. One cannot get to be very democratic and question everything. Operating within a system, one cannot comment on all aapsects - the buck has to stop somewhere. To be honest, Craig had tried to come up with a rating system that was well thought out and in consultation with us. As was expected, some chose to abuse it. But there is no denying that it HAS helped cut down the flames and express happiness when one wanted to. Let me be honest again. When I see the thumbs up sign against my post - I am HAPPY. Life in total is made up of such small happiness. Maybe its me. Raghu |
