Sir,
I went through your message. I would like to give you a simple suggestion to solve your buzzer problem. In the second method you have mentioned using PNP transisitor, the buzzer connections have to be reversed. Positive terminal of the bz to the transistor's collector and negative terminal to ground. Try it out.
