Mark, I think what Peter was suggesting is that you could have a timer interrupt to wake the cpu up regularly, test for any keys pressed and sleep if none were found. This would eliminate the 4082 cmos gate at the expense of slightly more power consumption.
If you're really pushed for pcb area, this might be a viable alternative. I'm glad you found the solution. |
