Thanks for the insight. No need to worry, Russell didn't lead me down the "wrong" path. I've actually got a really heavy EE/comp architecture background, but I'm new to the 8051 and firmware isn't my "thing." The theory makes perfect sense, but I've had some implementation road blocks.
