#136552 - More COM: Ports Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As Jan says, RS485 is specifically designed for "multi-drop" applications, and is readily available for PCs:
http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=136549 An alternative is just to add more COM ports to your PC - whether as PCI (or ISA) cards in a desktop PC, or PC Card (aka "PCMCIA"), or USB-to-RS232 adaptors. FTDI have a dual USB-to-Serial adaptor: http://apple.clickandbuild.com/cnb/shop/...DLP-2232ML http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/FT2232C.htm Here's some multi-port USB-to-RS232 adaptors - available as boxed products and bare boards: http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=118310 (also read the rest of that thread, as it's on the same subject) |
