The trouble is, how can you tell that a datasheet really does tell you all you need to known before you've actually got into the detail of doing the design - by which time it's too late!

In some cases (like this particular RF module), it's obvious that the datasheet is totally inadequate.

But how do you know whether a 50-page datasheet is 50 pages of useful, accurate and complete documentation - or is full of errors, omissions, inacuracies, ambiguities, contradictions, etc that only come to light halfway through the project?!
